Available jobs:

  • Assist with preparations for day ahead.
  • General labouring and support on construction site.
  • Conduct checks & operate machines (Dumpers/​forklift) (if assigned). 
  • Keeping supervisors updated with task progress and issues etc .
  • General site cleaning and cleaning of roads outside of site when needed.
  • Reclaim all materials as instructed where possible from site, and assist with preparing materials/​load in advance of next day.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.

Person Specification:

Qualifications/​requirements include: Driving License, knowledge of relevant construction/​health and safety policies and procedures. Dumper & Telehandler ticket beneficial.

  • Self-motivated.
  • Possesses can do attitude. 
  • Good communication skills within team and with customers, contractors etc.
  • Work effectively in teams and be able to work co-operatively. Be open to learning opportunities.
  • Physically able to perform manual demolition tasks. 
  • Open to change and adaptable.
  • You will be operating the weighbridge to weigh vehicles in and out of the site. Complete paperwork to ensure the site complies with legislation and any load rejections are dealt with.
  • Agricultural paperwork including management of product contracts under PAS 100.
  • Support site Workshop with compilation and updating of databases : Vehicle inspections/​MOTs, repairs and defects. 
  • Ensure all inspection reports along with MOT prep and other workshop reports are uploaded to the company shared file and electronically stored. 
  • Liaise with operational management with regards to forthcoming downtime on scheduled servicing and inspections.
  • Ensure all vehicles are currently MOT tested, O licence covered and taxed and insured and MOT tests booked to coincide with test renewal dates. 
  • Track and report vehicle availability targets for operational needs. 
  • Support purchasing of workshop equipment. 
  • Update data on procurement and replacement of vehicles.
  • Schedule and record safe health and safety activities. 
  • Maintaining stock of fast moving consumables and spares.
  • Make sure all diagnostic and calibrated equipment etc is kept updated and tested as required.
  • Assist with updating spreadsheets (recording and calculating inputs and outputs for the site), controlling visitors and contractors.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required by management.

  • Effective and confident communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Basic Health and Safety legislation knowledge.
  • Be able to operate in a compliant manner in a challenging environment. 
  • Self-motivated.
  • IT literate.
  • Be approachable and professional.
  • Must possess excellent organisational skills. The ability to reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes. 
  • Demonstrate understanding and works to exceed expectations.

Administrator and Weighbridge support role for Earthworks Transfer site. Processing tickets onto company Weighsoft system. This role may be for fixed term basis. No experience necessary as full training will be provided. 7.00am to 16.30am.

You will be operating the weighbridge to weigh vehicles in and out of the site.

  • As the weighbridge operator you will complete paperwork to ensure the site complies with legislation (e.g. weighbridge tickets, duty of care etc).Deal with any load rejection paperwork.
  • Site paperwork including management of product contracts under PAS 100.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with updating spreadsheets (recording and calculating inputs and outputs for the site), controlling visitors and contractors.
  • Processing/​invoicing for Shorts Agriculture.
  • Willing to travel to other sites as required.
